How To Be An Instagram Influencer

So you enjoy creating content, sharing your skills, maybe you’ve built an audience & already have some sort of influence but now you want to make some extra income from it or even eventually make it a full-time job? Well, you've come to the right place.
I wrote an ebook giving you full guide and all the information you need on how to start getting paid on instagram. The ebook also contains information on what brands are looking for in potential influencers, how to pitch to brands, what to say, sample temples, influencer platforms to join, free resources including free lightroom presets, mediakit, etc. To get the ebook, click here- EBOOK LINK

First, you need to determine your niche. What kinds of content are you making? It can be anything you love & are good at; fashion, beauty, tech, skincare, business, faith, etc. Understand that this will help you determine what direction to go and how to find your audience. Also, as there are so many influencers out there already, you want to stand out from the crowd. Think about what makes you stand out and sets you apart from the rest.

Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Remember, this is your brand. It’s what represents you. So don’t be shy at all. Let people fall in love with not just your content, but with your personality too. Connect and collaborate with fellow bloggers/influencers, you can meet up, do a shoot together, discuss potential collaborations for your respective channels, etc.

Another important thing to note before getting started is that you ensure that you’re doing it for the right reasons, not because you want to make money. If money is your drive instead of passion, then you’re more likely to get discouraged if things don’t pick up immediately.

Read the following points to guide you through how to become an influencer.
  • Create High-Quality Content. People are more likely to stay longer on your feed when you have high quality, engaging posts. My best tips for getting good pictures are by using good lighting (mostly day/sunlight), good quality camera & angles. People won’t engage with a post that’s blurry, dimly lit or untidy.
  • Commit to a consistent posting schedule. Get this... Instagram will reward you for posting consistently because they want more active users to continue using the app so they give priority to active accounts, pushing their posts higher on the newsfeed.
  • Make sure you switch your account to a ‘Business’ or ‘Creator’ profile to get insights, exclusive features and analytics for your account. When you start working with brands, your statistics play a big part in you landing that paying gig.
  • ENGAGE! ENGAGE! ENGAGE!! Get to know your audience, engage with your followers and make the most of your IG stories because that’s where you can share your raw, unfiltered moments. Make use of polls and questions, talk to your followers from time to time, and welcome your new followers. You can discover new accounts in your niche by going through your favourite hashtags and then engage regularly with other accounts.
  • Remember to reach out to the brands. You can send them DMs on Instagram. Many brands check their DMs regularly and reply within hours. You can also check the contacts section of their website and you’ll most likely find a press/influencer contact address there.
